Helene is Director of the HIV Dental Program, Boston Public Health Commission. She was a consultant to the Evaluation Center for the HRSA/HAB SPNS Oral Health Initiative from 2006-2012. She is Vice President of HIVDENT. She have been working with People Living with HIV (PLWH) since the late 80s being among those opening the first AIDS office at the MA Department of Public Health.  She established the first HIV oral health program at Boston Public Health Commission, subscribes to Denver Principle, and has worked with and for consumers for over 30 years. Helene's specific area of expertise is oral health, but her areas of knowledge extend beyond that and include infection control, exposure management and HIV infected healthcare providers. She works with over 36 agencies providing services to a variety of consumers including women, individuals struggling with substance addiction, individuals with histories of incarceration, HIV infected individuals with co-morbid conditions, and men who have sex with men.
