
Shana Burrowes
Biography
Dr. Burrowes is an Assistant Professor in the Section of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine, Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. She also serves as a faculty member in the Evans Center for Implementation and Improvement Sciences at Boston University. Dr. Burrowes lends quantitative, qualitative and implementation science methodological research support to projects across a breadth of content areas including chronic pain, HIV/AIDS, risk factors for cardiovascular disease in patients with HIV/AIDS, sickle cell disease and antibiotic stewardship. Her overall research goals center on addressing inequitable access to and receipt of healthcare in racial and ethnic minorities-with a special focus on racial/ethnic inequities in antibiotic treatment of respiratory tract infections.
