Research Profile

Biography

Debbie M. Cheng, ScD, is a Professor of Biostatistics and Assistant Dean of Data Science at the Boston University School of Public Health, where she is the founding Executive Director of the Center for Health Data Science. With more than 25 years of experience in HIV research, her work focuses on applied statistics and the design and analysis of clinical trials, with particular emphasis on the intersection of substance use and HIV. She leads interdisciplinary initiatives that bridge data science with public health and clinical research. As Co-Director of the Providence/Boston CFAR, Dr. Cheng brings deep methodological expertise and a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to advancing HIV science and training.
